Minimally Invasive Surgery
Most of the surgical procedures at St. Mary’s are minimally invasive, meaning that the external wounds left on the body are much smaller than in traditional, open surgeries. These surgeries often require a shorter hospital stay and produce less pain, and are followed by a shorter recovery period.
In many cases, St. Mary’s surgeons perform minimally invasive surgery using the Da Vinci robot, offering even greater precision than manual laparoscopy.
