The Children’s Mobile Crisis Team is available to assist during a child’s psychiatric crisis. We provide services for children between the ages of 5 and 18 in Montgomery County.
During a crisis, the Mobile Crisis Team will respond to the child’s school to provide crisis intervention services.
The services include, but are not limited to:
- comprehensive crisis assessment
- assistance in de-escalation of the child
- making appropriate community or hospital referrals
- completing a safety plan
Parent and school involvement is important during this process to foster a positive outcome for the child and family. Following the initial crisis intervention, follow up is completed with the child and school to ensure that improvement is noted, referrals have been successfully acted on, and provide further assistance with ongoing concerns. If a child is in crisis or at risk of being in crisis, the child or family should discuss concerns with school staff and request that the school contact the Mobile Crisis Team for assistance.
Mobile Crisis is accessed through the child’s school and is available Monday – Friday 8AM to 3PM. Parental or legal guardian verbal consent is required.
