Continuous Improvement

St. Mary’s is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in healthcare for our entire community

We participate in several initiatives that help us embed this dedication into every aspect of our service to others. Below are several of our core efforts.

The Joint Commission

St. Mary’s voluntarily participates in The Joint Commission’s accreditation process, which involves participating in regular surveys to ensure our compliance with nationally established standards for quality, safety of care, and safety of the care environment. Contact us if you have concerns about safety or patient care. If your concerns remain unaddressed, contact The Joint Commission at (800) 994-6610.

Community Health Needs Assessment

St. Mary’s Healthcare periodically partners with independent research firms to conduct Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNA) for Fulton and Montgomery Counties. These reports provide a snapshot of the health of our community, which we use to collaborate with key partners in developing strategies, goals, and plans to improve community health.

Center for Medicare Services (CMS) National Patient Satisfaction Survey

St. Mary’s Participates in this national initiative to evaluate the care and services provided at acute care hospitals around the country and to provide a report to the public about how the healthcare system is functioning. A random sample of patients or their caregivers across a broad spectrum of our services receive mail or phone surveys occasionally requesting their feedback about their experience at St. Mary’s. Your participation in these surveys is completely voluntary, and we always appreciate your responses.
