St. Mary's Healthcare Addiction Services offer a comprehensive program for the detoxification, counseling, and medication for those suffering from addictive disease.
Located at convenient sites in Fulton and Montgomery Counties, treatment at St. Mary's offers a broad range of addiction (i.e., alcohol and/or substance abuse) services, including:
Clinic Services: St. Mary’s Healthcare operates outpatient addiction clinics in Amsterdam and in Gloversville. These clinics provide a range of services including evaluation services and individual, group, and family counseling. A range of addiction medications, including Suboxone, are available to assist individuals in achieving stable recovery. Dual Recovery Services are available at both locations and Hispanic friendly services are offered in our Amsterdam location. Day and evening appointments are available.

Crisis Services: St. Mary’s Behavioral Health Services operates a crisis hotline which is available 24 hours a day at (518) 842-9111. St. Mary’s Emergency Department (427 Guy Park Avenue in Amsterdam) can assess and treat a range of acute drug/alcohol/mental health related problems. You can contact the ER at 841-7237 and can even schedule an appointment if your needs are not highly emergent.
Detoxification Services: Alcohol withdrawal may require treatment on an inpatient basis. Patients at risk for acute alcohol withdrawal should be assessed at the St. Mary’s Emergency Department. Treatment of withdrawal from opiates is provided on an outpatient basis at the clinic locations listed above. We can also assist in referring you to a facility that provides inpatient detoxification from opiates.
Inpatient Addiction Rehab: Our inpatient rehab, St Joseph’s Hall, offers intensive residential treatment of addiction with a variable length of stay. Our 14 bed unit size allows us to give provide individualized care and we specialize in treating the dually diagnosed client. The program is located at the main St. Mary’s Hospital location (427 Guy Park Ave.) and referrals can be made by contacting the Admissions Coordinator at (518) 841-7325.
Methadone Maintenance: St. Mary’s operates a Methadone Maintenance Treatment Program at our 4988 State Highway 30 clinic in Amsterdam. This program combines the daily administration of methadone with counseling services to assist individuals in overcoming addiction to heroin and other opiates.
