Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation - CARF Accredited. Acute rehabilitation provides rehabilitation nursing along with physical, occupational and speech therapy services to patients who may have suffered from a stroke, an accident, cardiac problems, or have had bone or joint replacements and other orthopedic problems. The goal is to assist the patient in making the transition from hospital to home or community settings.
Occupational Therapy - The Occupational Therapy Department at Amsterdam offers programs for many different diagnoses including stroke (CVA), rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, orthopedic injuries of the arm and hand, repetitive stress disorders (including carpal tunnel syndrome), postoperative hand therapy, brain injury, and chronic pain management.
Open Gym - The Open Gym Program was established to accommodate individuals who wish to increase their upper and/or lower body strength in a supervised, non-threatening environment. Each Program is customized according to each person's tolerance and requirements and is updated accordingly.
