St. Mary's Gastroenterology Health Center provides the highest quality gastrointestinal medical care. Gastroenterology focuses on diagnosing and treating digestive symptoms and diseases. This may include disorders that affect the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas and gallbladder. Certification in this subspecialty involves 2-3 years of additional medical training and testing specifically dealing with these types of diseases.
Michael J. Finnegan, MDis a Board Certified Gastroenterologist. He specializes in diagnosing and treating disorders of gastrointestinal tract in men and women 18 years and older, with extensive training in inflammatory bowel disease, as well as esophageal motility and esophageal pH testing. Dr. Finnegan is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Gary Sinensky, MD is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. Dr. Sinensky brings to the St. Mary’s network, more than 30 years of experience in private practice and his work as Chief of Gastroenterology at Hoboken University Hospital. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology.
Sohail Adnan, MD is specially trained in interventional gastroenterology procedures including endoscopic ultrasound, ERCP, Barrett's treatment, luminal GI stenting, pancreatic, liver and lymph node biopsies, endomucosal resection and fiducial placement, pancreatic cyst and its drainage, along with general GI procedures (EGD/Colonoscopy) and GI oncology.
Dr. Sohail has five years of experience post fellowship. Prior to joining St. Mary's, Dr. Sohail worked in Dartmouth-Hitchcock campus in NH and SVMC, VT campus where he was nominated for Excellent Physician of the Year.
All doctors specialize in diagnosing and treating issues associated with gastric reflux disease (heart burn),stomach ulcers, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, difficulty swallowing and many other problems associated with the upper and lower intestinal tract. The Health Center also offers screening colonoscopies for patients with a family history of Colon Cancer or for patients over 50 years of age. Colonoscopies (lower intestinal tract) and Gastroscopies (upper intestinal tract) are performed in St. Mary's Healthcare out-patient department, where they use a lighted scope with a camera to view the intestinal tract and help to diagnose symptoms and treat their causes.
