Community Outreach

St. Mary’s is proud to reach out to help improve the health of our community. Our outreach includes but is not limited to educational seminars, support groups, health screenings, health insurance enrollment, participation at community events and partnership opportunities. Education Programs

St. Mary’s provides a variety of programs to assist our community in taking control of their health by providing education and support on a variety of health and wellness topics. For a complete schedule of events, please click here.

Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group

A place where caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer’s or other dementias can share experiences, express concerns and get support from each other and an expert facilitator.

Date: First Tuesday of the month

Time/Place: 6:00 PM, St. Mary's Healthcare Wilkinson Conference Room, first floor

Brain Injury Support Group

The Brain Injury Support Group is available for brain injury and stroke survivors, family members, and those who are interested in learning more about dealing with brain injury.

Date: Second Monday of each month

Time/Place: 6:30 PM, St. Mary's Hospital Cafeteria

Cancer Support Group

The Cancer Support Group provides a safe, comforting place to meet other patients, survivors, friends and loved ones to receive health education, guidance, support, and to build new friendships.

Date: Third Thursday of every month

Time/Place: 6:00 PM, St. Mary's Rao Outpatient Pavilion, Cancer Medicine Center lobby

Look Good - Feel Better

A free program that teaches beauty techniques to women cancer patients in active treatment to help them combat the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment.

Ostomy Support Group

Date: Third Thursday of every month

Time/Place: 2:00 PM, St. Mary's Healthcare cafeteria annex (Pete’s Place)

Diabetes Busters Support Group

A focus on providing education and support to help you manage your Diabetes and live a healthy lifestyle.

Date: The third Wednesday of the month (No meetings in July or August)

Time/Place: 5:00 PM, St. Mary's Healthcare Memorial Campus, Burgess Room

Survivors of a Loved One’s Suicide (SOLOS) Support Group

A safe place to meet with other survivors of a loved one’s suicide.

Date: Second and fourth Wednesday of the month

Bereavement Support Group: Living With Loss 

A safe place to meet with friends and family members after a loved one’s passing.

Date: Second Tuesday of the month

Support groups are created by people who provide a warm, welcoming, safe environment for others to find hope and inspiration from people who have "been there". The support groups also serve as educational resources, discussion forums, builders of coping skills and personal support. There is no "sign up" needed or fee for attendance; please feel free to attend any of the groups listed below.
