St. Mary’s Healthcare Names Director of Patient Access
AMSTERDAM, N.Y., August 26, 2026—St. Mary’s Healthcare has named Patti Hensel director of patient access, a role that’s focused on reducing barriers to care and ensuring a positive patient experience.
Hensel has more than two decades of clinical and leadership experience with New York Oncology Hematology. Most recently, she was director of operations for seven NYOH sites throughout the Capital Region, including the cancer care provider’s Amsterdam location.
At St. Mary’s, Hensel oversees scheduling, registration, insurance authorization and other operations that affect virtually everyone who turns to the hospital for care.

Hensel is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, where she earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in health systems administration.
