St. Mary’s Healthcare Adds Hematologist/Oncologist To Growing Cancer Care Team
AMSTERDAM, N.Y., Sept. 2, 2026—Dr. Manasa Anipindi has joined the cancer care team at St. Mary’s Healthcare. She comes to St. Mary’s after completing a three-year fellowship in hematology/oncology at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx.
Dr. Anipindi is the latest physician recruited by the independent community hospital as part of its commitment to increase local access to much-needed specialty care.
“We serve a rural community, where cancer rates are higher than the New York state average,” said Dr. Brian McDermott, vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer at St. Mary’s Healthcare. “Easy access to cancer care, from skilled, compassionate physicians like Dr. Anipindi, can mean a world of difference—for individual patients and the health of our community as a whole.”
As part of a multiyear strategic initiative, St. Mary’s is bolstering and adding services shown to have the greatest impact on population health. Since 2023, the hospital has launched a pulmonology and sleep medicine practice, partnered to expand orthopedic and spine services, and added specialists in addiction medicine and behavioral health, cancer care, gastroenterology, general surgery, OB/GYN and urology. St. Mary’s also has added primary care providers in multiple locations.
Dr. Anipindi earned her medical degree from Kakatiya Medical College in India and completed a residency in internal medicine at Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital in Pennsylvania. She is board certified in internal medicine with subspecialty certification in medical oncology.
