At St. Mary’s Healthcare we provide both adult and pediatric services. Services are provided in our inpatient, acute and sub-acute rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation, and long-term care settings. We work to provide coordinated care and intervention by working closely with families, medical providers, and rehabilitation team. Services include:
Speech Therapy Assessment and Treatment for Adults
Speech and Voice: - Oral motor strengthening for dysarthria (weakness in the muscles used for speech) |
Language, Cognition, and Communication: - Aphasia treatment for patients who have difficulty finding words post-stroke |
Swallowing (Dysphagia – Impaired swallowing): - Clinical Swallow Evaluations and Bedside Swallow Evaluations |
Speech Therapy Assessment and Treatment for Children (Birth-17 years of age)
Speech and Voice: - Articulation and phonological treatment due to delayed speech development |
Language and Communication: - Language stimulation to improve vocabulary and communication for children described as “late talkers” |
Swallowing: - Feeding assessment and treatment for the child who is a “picky eater” or exhibiting moderate-severe food selectiveness |
