The program is designed to introduce you to a representative from each department in the same order that you will encounter them on the day of your surgery and thereafter.
You are the primary player in the team approach to a successful outcome post-operatively. We want you to have an understanding of the processes that will occur as you progress from your pre-operative status, to surgery, post-operatively and on to rehabilitation for greater function and independence.
We will provide you ample time with each presenter to ensure that you are well informed about the entire Joint Replacement Process. The program usually takes between 1 to 2 hours from start to finish.
During the program you will hear a presentation delivered by our multidisciplinary team including a pre-admission nurse, pharmacist, physical therapist, floor nurse, discharge planner and an acute rehab unit representative. The program is designed to introduce you to a representative from each department in the same order that you will encounter on the day of your surgery.
