Dr. Ashley Telisky Joins St. Mary’s Healthcare as Director of Specialty Practice Operations & Physician Advisor
AMSTERDAM, N.Y., July 20, 2026—St. Mary’s Healthcare has named Dr. Ashley Telisky director of specialty practice operations and physician advisor. She has 10 years of leadership experience in emergency medicine and hospital operations, most recently as chief logistics officer and vice chair of system integration for the Albany Med Health System.
At St. Mary’s, Dr. Telisky will be instrumental in ensuring the continued success of the hospital’s specialty practices, including ear, nose and throat (ENT), gastroenterology, general surgery, OB/GYN, podiatry, pulmonology and urology. Dr. Telisky will also work across the organization to advance strategic initiatives around length of stay, readmission and clinical documentation.
Since 2025, St. Mary’s has welcomed more than 40 providers in 13 specialties as part of its emphasis on strategic growth. Many are attracted by the opportunity to be part of a community-based organization that’s quickly earned a reputation for quality, safety and its positive work culture.
With a Leapfrog Safety Grade of “A” and an infection rate of zero for Clostridioides difficile (C. diff) and catheter-associated urinary tract infections, St. Mary’s is one of the safest hospitals in the Capital Region. In addition, its associates have voted St. Mary’s a Top Workplace in both 2025 and 2026.
“As word spreads about the transformation underway at St. Mary’s, we’re seeing increased interest from talented applicants who want to be part of a smaller, independent organization, where they can have a more direct impact on care outcomes for our community,” said Jeff Methven, president and CEO of St. Mary’s Healthcare. “At a time when hospitals are finding it hard to recruit and retain talent, our growing reputation for quality and workplace culture has allowed St. Mary’s to have success.”
A graduate of the University at Albany, State University of New York, Dr. Telisky earned her medical degree from Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a fellowship in clinical anatomy at Kansas City University and a residency in emergency medicine at Albany Medical College.
Dr. Telisky also has an MBA in healthcare leadership from Rockhurst University in Kansas City. She is board certified in emergency medicine.
