Amsterdam, NY (November 19, 2020) - St. Mary’s Healthcare is pleased to formally announce that their new Vice President of Mission Integration is Margaret Brodie.

“With over 15 years of experience at St. Mary’s Healthcare, Margaret will be an excellent Mission focused leader and resource for our associates and the community as St. Mary’s transitions back to an independent Catholic healthcare ministry,” stated Scott Bruce, President and CEO of St. Mary’s Healthcare.

Margaret started with St. Mary's Healthcare back in 2005 as a Specialist in the St. Mary’s Human Resources department.  In 2008, Margaret became the Program Manager of their Cancer Services program of Montgomery, Fulton and Schenectady Counties.  In this role, Margaret led a program that involved 30 community agencies and medical providers, and coordinated with the New York State Department of Health to ensure proper oversight of over $2 Million in grant funding.  In 2018 Margaret was promoted to become the Director of Community Benefits and Outreach and was responsible for leading the Community Health Needs Assessment and Prioritized Initiatives for all community programs.  As Director of Community Benefits, she also supervised three cancer prevention programs and health insurance enrollment activities.  Margaret served on the Mission Council, Ethics Committee, Health and Wellness Committee and several community partnerships.  Working together with the previous Mission lead at St. Mary’s Healthcare, Sr. Joan Mary Hartigan, Margaret also organized several very successful food distribution events that have been held around our region.

Margaret has a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Arkansas, and an M.B.A. in Healthcare Management from Western Governors University.

“I look forward to continuing my service to our associates and our community while promoting the Mission, Vision, and Values of St. Mary’s Healthcare. Honoring the legacy of Catholic Social Tradition, I will ensure our high-quality health care services are provided with compassion, understanding, reverence, and dignity,” stated Margaret Brodie, Vice President of Mission at St. Mary’s Healthcare.

Working closely with leaders and associates at St. Mary’s Healthcare and community members throughout the Greater Capital Region, Margaret, as well as St. Mary’s Healthcare, remains steadfast to the legacy of serving all with compassion and excellence.
