In fact, 88 percent of our rehabilitation patients return to their homes, while the national average for similar rehabilitation hospitals is about 77 percent. This intensive rehabilitation unit is designed to gradually increase the level of functioning for a patient who has been discharged from an acute-care setting, with the ultimate goal of assisting the patient in making the transition from inpatient to outpatient therapy.
Acute rehabilitation provides physical, occupational and speech therapy services to patients who may have suffered from a stroke, an accident, cardiac problems, or have had bone or joint replacements and other orthopedic problems. The goal is to assist the patient in making the transition from hospital to home or community settings.
